Hello, everyone! after dealing with real life and the other nonsense of living, panny and i have decided to bring back war of change. give a round of applause. we’ve worked through all of the information and hopefully improved coherency and cohesion; however, tell us if we missed something. eventually, we’ll announce an event to celebrate the re-opening, so look out for information on that. -RAIDNE, THE HEAD ADMIN
From the moonless night, screams of terror and fear resound, spreading across the world and infecting the masses; however, those sleepless nights occurred years ago. A new era began with the fires of war, and with no end in sight, the residents of Selene Isle trudge through life, basking in the momentary peace. Despite their prayers for continued monotony and peace, a storm brews, stirred to life by the continued presence of Rapture and Wraith. And as we set our sights on the seemingly peace laden isle, we must ask: how shall this tale end?
As the years passed, the number of true pairs increased; however, they continued to live in the shadows, catering to the whims of the mundane. Seven Moons kept watch over them all, instructing them and assisting them, but for many, the attitudes and ideals of the organization were smoldering, suffocating. With Seven Moons and the mundanes, they could not grasp the freedom, the power dangling before their eyes. In the beginning, rebellion was a dream, a fantasy, a figment—developed by the repressed and carried forward due to the nature of humanity. No one expected the call to sound, and no one expected the call to be answered. However, it happened.
Henry had simply been on his way out for some shopping, on foot since he had parked his car down the block. A commotion caught his attention inside of a gym, panicked voices filtering through the door when someone left the building. The doctor was quick to enter to see if he could help, alerting the small gathered crowd of his profession and telling them to give him some room after he saw that someone had collapsed. When he laid eyes on the young man he froze for a moment, as it damn near felt like his soul itself was trying to pull him towards the currently limp body. It was like nothing he had ever felt before, but he forced himself to ignore it for the time being so he could tend to the boy.
The doctor determined that the guy wasn’t in any serious danger, fever likely being the cause of the collapse. Still he told onlookers that he was taking the other, who someone told him was named Faye, to the hospital- a complete lie really. Henry was strong enough to carry Faye out to his car and he went home with the younger one instead of to the hospital, wanting to know why he felt as if he knew- or should know, rather- this boy without his colleagues’ interference. Not to mention he didn’t think a hospital was actually needed in this case.
Once he carried Faye into his apartment, he set the boy down on his couch. He put a rag damp with cool water on the other’s forehead before checking the heartbeat with his fingers on the man’s neck, after that figuring he couldn’t really do a whole lot until Faye came too. This feeling was similar to what he had read about when he researched bonded pairs first finding each other in his youth, but he hardly dared to let himself hope since he had given up on finding his fighter- not to mention he didn’t think that his partner would be so young.
He didn't think he would faint like that. All he'd been doing was working out, with a small fever but who cared. Fevers couldn't be that bad. It'd end up passing in time Faye had thought. No one was there to tell him different but half way through his work out he fainted. He could feel the world spinning after his vision went black. And that was all he could figure out, the voices around him really did not make this any easier. Now did it? What was he going to do? Faye tried to move his body but it was not responding to him. Could it really be that angry with him? For what.
All he needed was a stress reliever he didn't think it'd end up making him faint that quickly. He could just blame it on being over worked and stressed. Probably. The boy just groaned, he could feel the heat running through his body. To anyone else he just seemed to be panting and shivering, like a child left out in the ice cold while he was sick. Or getting sick out there, whichever. This was only comparing to the situation at hand. Now he didn't know a doctor had picked him up. Or that a doctor had even been there. So Faye would probably freak out quite a bit when he ended finally waking up.
But who could blame him? He'd been working out then passed out and ended up in a stranger's house. Not exactly his cup of tea or something he even wanted to think about now that he was dealing with this stuff. He still felt so dizzy as he slowly opened his eyes. He didn't know what to do, honestly he felt really tired. And sick at that, what was he going to say. At this point it would probably not end up making any sense. Or getting him anywhere at that. Faye didn't even know exactly where he was at this point anyway. His body was just so worn out. What was he going to do?
This made him feel a tad bit confused, he barely knew what to do or even how to handle this at that. It was already quite awkward. The boy wondered where he was, he just tried to sit up feeling the wet cloth fall on his lap. It had been on his forehead? At least that was where it fell from. He didn't entirely know what to do on this one. Not right now at the very least. It might seem to be overly awkward but he'd get it handled. Once he figured out where he was.
"W-where am I? Who are you?" He rambled on quickly, not even thinking about the fact that he was still dizzy. Faye had no idea what he was even trying to do here. This was already so complicated. And he almost didn't like any of it. Right? At this point it made him feel seriously weird. After all what could he end up saying at this point. It might be a bit weird but other then that he wasn't about to care. Getting into it would confuse him. Or make matters worse.
The doctor had taken to sitting on a nearby lounge chair as he read a book and waited for Faye to wake up, his gaze snapping over to the younger brunette when he heard another’s voice. “It’s alright, I’m a doctor and you’re in my apartment. You collapsed at the gym and I brought you hear to treat you,” Henry explained calmly, not wanting the teen to think this was some sort of kidnapping. He put a marker in his book before going to the kitchen and retrieving a tall glass of ice water before returning, a few tools laid out on the coffee table that he had gathered while waiting.
“My name’s Henry Marsh, I’m a general medical practitioner at Selene General Hospital… Here, look into the light so I can check if you have a concussion,” he introduced himself in more detail and gave that command shortly before shining a light into the younger one’s green eyes, not even waiting for a response. “How are you feeling?” Henry asked as he put the light away, having wanted to check for a concussion first since it was his primary concern at the moment. The doctor would wait to see if the boy was panicking too much for any further tests, not wanting to stress Faye out too much.
The pale blue shirt that he wore was a bit low cut already, and with him also hovering over the younger one it revealed the name ‘Selfless’ just below his left collar bone, not that he even noticed it. “You’re name is Faye, right? One of the workers told me,” he went on, still sounding as calm as ever since he wanted to keep the teen from freaking out and fleeing. He wanted to find out why he felt so drawn to the other, so he wanted to avoid scaring young man away. Despite how awkward Faye seemed to be, Henry appeared to be completely calm. "Mind if I do a few more tests?"
He felt so worn out now, even with how his body was working. What was he going to do? How could he stand there. Really Faye didn't know what to say. The boy had a feeling something bad had happened, he could only remember small parts. And ending up in some guy's apartment was not a plan. Not at all. So this might already be too foreign for him anyway basically. Though if it ended anything like the one with Michio this wouldn't be so awkward. Yet he also didn't know exactly where he'd go about this stuff. It was all a matter of figuring out the right time and place to ask questions. Right? But he was trying to look at him, trying to get a read on him. What was he going to say? Faye hoped this guy wasn't some weirdo murderer or something along those lines anyway. But that was rude, and Faye knew it. Instantly saying that would probably make someone mad. He didn't entirely know though. Faye still had to learn how to read people, he found it very confusing and hard when he tried to read people sometimes basically. So he had collapsed? That explained the pain in the back of his head. "O-ow...well that explains why my head hurts, but why here and not a hospital. I mean thank you, I'm not judging you just I'm curious." That was all, this confused him. He was trying to make some sense out of this.
Without giving him a headache would be really nice. But like that'd even happen right? Since he was already a bit stressed out to be completely honest right about now. What was he going to say? How could he handle knowing he was in stranger's home. So far he hadn't squirmed but yes he still felt really freaking awkward. And really lost with all of this. To think he passed out then fell, and was here. So he'd have to deal with this. He had to figure that out. Or learn how to not say some of those thoughts in his head. Mostly since Faye didn't know how they'd come out. Or what someone might think about them. It could be quite weird if the brown haired boy was not careful with words. After all this person had helped him when he didn't need to. Even if he was a doctor that didn't even matter. Basically. He looked at the light as he was told, though he couldn't help flinching. It made his head hurt ten times worst. Well okay not as bad as that, but it wasn't exactly very good either. Faye just knew that hit to his head on the ground made it really bad. It'd end up hurting a lot longer if he didn't get it looked at, if it was anything bad at least.
"Dizzy, my head hurts but really I'm fine. It'll go away." He always said that, Faye was never concerned. Even if he still had a slight fever right now that was not even in his mind. He had completely forgotten to mention he had a fever, and he felt like crap. That was just not something he wanted to admit that his fever was still there. And it still bothered him at that. The boy panicked it was his way of handling things, probably not for his best idea. But what was he going to say? Faye had still tried to figure this out. Figure out why a stranger bothered to help him at this point. "Y-yea it's Faye but um what tests are you going to do? "he seemed so shaky. This was not something he wanted, or at least not something he enjoyed right now. Basically. At that moment he felt it was just not going to be that easy for him to figure out. But for now he just let things go as they did.
Waiting to find out what other tests he wanted to do.
“I didn’t know of what insurance coverage you had, so I figured it could save a lot of time and money if I just brought you here,” Henry lied near flawlessly, able to come up with an excuse so easily. The youth’s concerned words troubled him though, realizing that he probably went too far by dragging the boy back here. It weighed heavily on his mind, not to mention made him feel as if he was mistaken about the sensation in his gut. He had read that both the fighter and sacrifice were supposed to feel the bond, yet this teen simply seemed worried and. Not that he could blame the guy, it was mostly his fault for bringing Faye here.
Nodding when the other went on to explain what he felt, he was pulled out of a brief distracted daze. “Right, well it doesn’t look like you have a concussion and I didn’t see any break in the skin, your head’s most likely just bruised,” he explained, sounding half out of it still as doubt continued to swell in his chest. “I was just going to check your fever and see if you have a sore throat or ear infection, but perhaps you’d be better off going to an actual medical facility,” it almost hurt to say that since he didn’t want the kid to leave, but he didn’t want to trap Faye here either. As he spoke he stood and put a bit of distance between them, returning to the kitchen with the fallen rag to get some fresh cold water on it.
“You should drink some water, too, it’ll help the sickness get out of your system. Also you should rest when you’re sick instead of work out, or else things like that happen,” he explained as he rang out the cloth before returning, handing it back to the younger man with a little smile. The glass of water was still on the table next to the other as well, since he had left it there after first pouring the glass. “I can drive you to the hospital or back to the gym to get your car… Though I’d suggest getting some rest first, of course,” Henry added on, sounding hesitant despite how calm his tone had been so far.
He only gave a small nod, at least he had a point. Faye was not going to change his mind on that. For now he'd trust the doctor since the man didn't actually seem to be that bad. Right? At least for now. Seriously though he wondered just what he was trying to do. Or how he was attempting to figure this sort of stuff out. It might not end up mattering but at the same time it just might. The way this person acted they didn't seem to be much of a threat. So it'd be alright. Faye just needed to cool his head a bit, and get rid of that fever. It was making him not think normally, not as he should anyway. Which couldn't be all that shocking. With all the stuff that had happened between the time he fainted and now. Really. This was already quite awkward for him but Faye started to work through the motions. He started to attempt to accept this and not complain. Not that he ever started complaining but yea. For now all he did was try not to flinch cause of the lights bothering him as he glanced at this stranger. So who was he? What did he want? Well now he knew his name, and that he was a doctor but that truly was as far as it ended up going at this point. Really, he didn't mind but Faye had a curious nature to him as well.
So that was hard enough to get past without saying something wrong. He just chewed his bottom lip while attempting to think over his words a bit more carefully at this point anyway. Since he had someone who helped him, and who made him feel better. Even if it was just a little bit since his head hurt and such. This couldn't be that shocking that in general he might be a tad bit scared. So seriously just what was he going to do? Faye didn't want to leave, hospitals would be worse. He already burdened this guy no need to do the same to someone else. So maybe just staying here for a bit longer wouldn't be so bad. Or at least that was what he thought by now, not as if it made any sense though. In reality he felt it might be too confusing and strange to say that. Even if Faye knew he needed to voice his opinion about this situation at some point. "U-uh thank you sir..I mean really, it's wonderful you decided to help me. Not many people would bring someone like me to a house like this, more so when they don't know me." He was confused by this act of kindness. It was honestly so foreign to him, and he didn't even know where to go with this at that point. Why would he?
"You can check...I don't think I'm that sick anymore." He said as he just smiled, he was trying to pretend he was not in pain. But of course he might be entirely wrong on that. Since well his skin had been overheated not too long ago, and he was already struggling to deal with that. Rather then tripping over his own feet basically. More or less this was a bad situation for him. He almost wondered if he should know what to do about this because on a literal note he had no idea what to even do. "I'm sorry. Just um no hospitals, can you get my gym bag later though? I'll be fine in this for now I think it's not so bad. Can just go home tomorrow or something." He said as he tried to get a bit more comfortable with this whole situation. It couldn't be bad, yet it also couldn't be good. What was he supposed to do? Faye felt as if this was really bad for him, or he might be thinking over it too much.
He leaned forward to pick up the glass, and drink some of the water. All while watching him and waiting for him to do something. This confused him a lot however he'd rather keep it to himself. He was just a bit tired, Faye hadn't entirely woken up.
The gravity of this situation was really starting to weigh on the doctor, as he realized that he may have made a horrible mistake. Even though the other was trying to hide it, he could pick up on the anxiety that Faye felt, especially with the way the boy stuttered. “I felt like I could trust you for some reason… Honestly I’m not really sure why myself,” he answered honestly, knowing damn well that it wasn’t normal for someone to drag home a complete stranger. He could probably lose his job to this actually, if Faye went and complained to the right people. This was stupid of him and he knew it, yet he couldn’t help himself.
Nodding when he was given permission to check, he grabbed another light and shined it in Faye’s ears as the teen continued to speak, not having done this while the boy was sleeping since he didn’t want to do too much against the other’s will… It was bad enough to make Faye wake up in a stranger’s home, really. “Sure I can, and you can go home whenever you want… You probably don’t live far from here anyway, we’re in Elatha’s Dwelling,” Henry said since he still didn’t want the boy to feel trapped here, and he knew that most on the isle lived right around here.
“Alright, open up and say ‘ahh’,” the doctor ordered as he grabbed a popsicle stick, pushing down on the boy’s tongue with it and shining in light so he could see the back of the other’s throat. “Slightly enflamed and a bit red, you might not feel it but you’ve got a sore throat, too. It’s not bad though. Now hold the thermometer under your tongue and take it out when it beeps and read me off what it says, it’s electronic,” he explained and tacked on a few more orders as he got up to leave the couch, going towards his bathroom’s medicine cabinet for something to treat the common cold. It should do just fine he figured, since Faye really didn’t seem that bad.
“Here, take these. You can have the bottle too, if you don’t have stuff like this at home. Take a couple pills about every eight hours and you should be fine after a couple days,” Henry said when he returned, setting the bottle of over the counter Tylenol down on the table as he gave Faye a couple pills as well.
This was awkward but this person wanted to help him. Eventually he'd draw the line on this one, it was his style anyway. What else could he end up doing, seriously this only made him feel strange. The sick kind of strange, but then again he also didn't feel very good so it wasn't shocking either. Faye found himself looking back at the man who had saved him. Well no not saved him but helped him. Though it kinda went hand in hand on Faye's mind really. "O-oh okay! if you say so. I-I...don't mind this. You aren't a bad person after all. So thank you again!" He laughed as he spoke, Faye was still jumpy and still very very nervous but he'd end up keeping it to himself for at least a little while. Hopefully. Maybe, but would it even help? That was something he might not be sure of entirely. And what was he going to say, how was he going to explain this stuff. Faye's emotions had always been all over the place. All he wanted to do was at least keep happy as far as he could. Though was this even going to do him any good? Since he wasn't that certain about his feelings. "U-um I mean...thank you for helping me, you really didn't have to." He smiled as he said that, this was making him blush and feel squirmy again.
How was he supposed to handle this? It'd probably not end up mattering but Faye had a feeling this person was someone he knew. Someone he wanted to know, if that made any sense. Honestly to Faye in the back of his head it did not. What was he going to do? At this point it might not be his smartest idea either. Go figure with how hard he might be working on this stuff. The boy didn't fight though having people look at his ears, and check his health made him really awkward. What was he going to do? How could he figure this out. If he wasn't careful he might mess this up. Which was truly not wanted at this point. Either way he'd learn to figure it out somehow. At the very least he'd know what he was doing. He'd know how he was handling this when the thoughts cleared away. But Faye didn't know if this doctor might even be telling the truth. His faith in people made him instantly believe that he was when maybe that voice in the back of his head was telling him that he shouldn't.
"Elatha? oh yea not that far...it'll be fine." He said as he just tried not to nod, since this guy was exploring his ears. And such he'd rather not end up getting hurt or hurting someone else. That did not sound like a good idea, and it never honestly would. Not in his mind at the very least but yet what was he even supposed to do? All this stuff seemed to make matters a tad bit weird. The boy had slowly started to realize he could leave whenever he wanted to basically. It'd be alright or so he thought, but yet he had to wonder what he was going to do or what he might be able to say either. It just confused him for a moment. But he'd learn to deal with it on his own, since that was probably all he could do. He was trying to follow this. What was he supposed to do? This already made him feel really awkward but of course he'd keep it to himself. For now at the very least. Though would it even do him any good? Who knew, he'd somehow have to figure this out in some other way, and not end up stepping on anyone toes basically. Faye needed to stop being a sweetheart, he really did. Who knew exactly what this person might want to do to him.
He opened his mouth for the doctor and winced a little bit. It hurt a bit, how was he supposed to handle this? It made him feel so awkward. And he did not entirely enjoy this either right now. He only gave a small nod and put the thermometer in his mouth under his tongue. Just closing his mouth around it as he waited for it to take the temperature. That just sounded so good to him right now. Or at least that was what he thought for now. He heard it beep and took it back out, his fever had barely gone down. But he didn't feel so overheated and exhausted. Maybe because he wasn't working out as he had been. That might be a thing that would do it, basically. "N-no I'm good. I can just get some later." He didn't even look at the pills, what if they had something bad? Like drugs, those drugs used to knock a person out. He didn't want that but his mind was just running off in a way it shouldn't have but what was he going to do about that anyway. It probably wouldn't end up changing matters either.
When Faye mentioned him not being a bad person, Henry blinked in surprise before chuckling a couple times himself. “Well I would sure hope I’m not a bad guy, kid, I’ve spent way too much time helping people for that… And you’re welcome,” the doctor chuckled again, glad that the other wasn’t freaking out too bad at least, seeming to accept that he hadn’t kidnapped the poor boy. He could tell that the other was still nervous though, and really he couldn’t blame Faye. It was picked up in the continuing stutters and squirming, both signs of discomfort. Still he kept trying to act calm though despite the doubts and worries plaguing his own mind, not wanting to give more reasons to panic.
Henry was grateful for how complacent the other was despite how stiff Faye’s body was, really starting to feel guilty for the stress he was putting the boy through. When he returned from the bathroom he glanced at the thermometer and was happy to note that it hadn’t broke a hundred degrees yet, even if it wasn’t a particularly healthy number. “Oh just take them, the sooner you do the sooner you’ll start feeling better,” the older brunette ordered as he placed the two pills into Faye’s hand, unintentionally tapping into the power to make his fighter obey him this time.
“Have you felt nauseous at all? I forgot to ask,” Henry asked out of the blue as if he hadn’t just done anything, because as far as he knew he hadn’t. Their bond was very loose at the moment, hardly even there, yet still he managed to tap into it briefly. He could barely even feel it and even ignored it, as he had himself convinced already to give up on the thought of this boy being his partner.
He felt a bit confused by this, and almost didn't know where to go with it. At least he wasn't entirely making him angry, that sounded good enough. Things seemed to go positive at least for the moment. And that made him feel good. He was usually always the one caring for other people after all. So this was one of those weird moments that he almost didn't know what to do with it. Simply put really. With a small shrug of his shoulders, he wondered exactly where this might go. So far he felt that he'd be alright. Hopefully, his fever just needed to go down in time. And the rest of it needed to go away too. Though would it? Faye couldn't help being a slight bit worried. Had he royally messed up with being sick and working out too. Not his best idea pretty much. He felt that he had so many reasons just to panic and yet he didn't seem panic too much further at this point. It felt so strange. He was not entirely sure what to do, or what to say. But of course he'd figure it out soon enough.
"No...I-I mean. I guess." He didn't even know what he was doing, suddenly he was refusing and then the pills were in his mouth and he took them. All on the orders of someone he didn't even know. That confused him and Faye almost dropped the cup. But he just carefully managed to stop himself then set it back down on the table. This couldn't be so bad, not for him. Not for any of them at that. So with a small smile and then confused expression he glanced at him. "What the heck was that?! Seriously what did you do!" He stood up, and just felt a bit dizzy but he tried to not complain. This was not something he wanted to deal with. It made him feel a bit confused, and he felt that he'd constantly be uncomfortable with that sort of stuff. Since right now it might not end up helping with anything. He did know that somewhere in his head was something a bit weird. That thought of he should know this. And yet he didn't. Go figure, what little luck he seemed to have at this point. Faye had walked into a house of someone who could order him around.
Go figure. He coughed a little in response to the pills and just leaned back on the couch. His whole body felt so unsettled here. And it was annoying to him. What could he say about it? What was he supposed to say about it? Since it wasn't likely to do him any good. Not right now at the very least. "No I'm fine just tired that's all. It's nothing else." He was still weirded out by this pill thing. So when he looked around he was trying to figure out some form of an escape route. Something to get him out of this place, if that mattered at all. Which so far no it didn't. And it never would, as far as he might be concerned. After all he had more then enough things to think about. He just didn't want to think about them in all honesty. He was still waiting for a response to his first question, he did not take that medicine on his own free will. So what was that about?
“I just gave you medicine…?” Henry answered uncertainly with his brows furrowed, not understanding why the other was freaking out all of a sudden. “Here, sit back down, you’re not in any shape to be wandering around right now,” he instructed, not wanting the poor guy to collapse again. The doctor appeared to be just as confused as his patient, his eyes narrowing when he saw how the teen was looking around in panic. This certainly wasn’t good, especially considering he had been trying so hard to curb Faye’s anxiety.
“Faye, it’s alright, just calm down… Explain to me what happened, in detail,” he requested, wanting to know what had the boy so freaked. Silently he hoped that Faye wasn’t delusional, but he didn’t want to be so quick to judge. “Far as I know I didn’t do anything that you haven’t consented to,” Henry added on, seeming genuinely confused. Again he hovered over the younger one slightly, his shirt falling away from the front of his body enough to partially reveal his true name on his collar bone once more.
Calculating brown eyes observed the youth closely, as if trying to catch a visible sign of what caused Faye’s distress. And after he tapped into their bond before, it seemed to be automatic now. His orders for Faye to sit and then tell him what happened carrying the same weight as the one to take the pills previously, and Henry was oblivious to it all. Despite having told Faye that he could leave anytime previously, the youth would likely find it difficult if he tried after the doctor’s command to remain seated.
Medicine? More like he had forced the medicine on him but of course Faye kept those words to himself. It would not do him a lot of good. Since he was basically in a doctor's hands. At least right now. So seriously just what was he supposed to do? With a small sigh he wondered what would end up happening. Or what this guy wanted from him even. Faye knew some stranger, no new friend had helped him out but it was still weird for him. Basically. "F-fine...but I'm seriously okay." He rambled on before just settling back down on the couch. This was not not so bad for him, even if his body felt like crap. He knew he might not be able to stay up for long if he tried to stand up.
So the doctor did have a point either way. Even if he wanted to ignore his orders it was not going to work. He could see sense in situations even when people might not want him to. That was all he thought about right now anyway. This made his head spin, and he was just going to have to figure it out later. Basically. Pretty much, there would be no getting past it even if he wanted to. What could he do right now? For that moment he'd rather just try to get a little bit of a rest. Though it wasn't likely to even happen right here. "I-I don't know! you just told me what to do! and I did it, how is that even true. You can't tell me what to do! I'm not supposed to be that easy to control." He grumbled, and this was a bit annoying.
"I didn't agree to shove pills down my throat." He didn't know what to do, this all made him feel so weird. What was he going to do? At this point he did not know what to say, this was apparently not going to help either of them but did it even matter at that. Faye had to figure out how he could control him. How could he actually get him to listen. Faye might be easy to walk over but even this was just too much for him to understand. "That name, where'd you get it?" He looked at the name and wondered what it truly was. This was so confusing to him.
The answers he received only seemed to leave Henry even more baffled, his brows furrowing further in confusion as well. “I wasn’t trying to control you… I don’t… What name…?” The doctor trailed off as realization struck him, his brown eyes going wide as the confused expression faded. “It appeared when I was thirteen,” he answered honestly as he pulled the collar of his shirt down far enough for Faye to see the name clearly. He could feel his heart racing in his chest as well, like an adrenaline rush hit him all of a sudden.
“Faye, what’s your name- your true name? Tell me,” the older brunette gave out another order, somewhat wanting to test his theory. This was another thing he had read about: fighters not being able to disobey a direct command from their sacrifice. Still he was a bit doubtful, especially considering how young Faye appeared to be, but he wasn’t throwing out the possibility completely like he normally did. He let go of his shirt after a few seconds as well, figuring it had been enough proof if they were actually partners.
Henry seemed to be acting quite different now as his main concern wasn’t to keep calm anymore, the excitement hardly contained anymore. Still he tried to hide it of course, just in case he was mistaken. Something told him he wasn’t wrong though, he could feel it.
Faye didn't want to deal with this, why couldn't this stop? All of it just seemed too much, and he wanted it to go away. This did not help the fact that he already felt really freaking dizzy. Worn out might be a better term as well. What could he do at this point? He only wondered why he felt so strange, and so out of place at that. His ideas were already really strange. Faye thought about his name, thought about the mark. He thought about everything. And it already made him feel out of place. What was he going to say? What good would it do? Right now his mind was swimming, not just from the fever. But from everything else he had been involved in. For now what could he say? Would it even end up helping him? Probably not. "But you did! even if you weren't trying to, I don't usually listen to people, not like that. And what do you think? The name under your shirt." He could see it, he really could. But of course he'd rather let that go for now. Even if he was trying to attempt sorting through his feelings. More or less this was already complicated, and he truly did not know what to do. Or how to speak about the way these things were even going.
Well this man was old, he knew that already but Faye didn't want to think of that. No this was about the name, the name they had shared. But he kept that to himself for now. For as long as he could. Faye didn't want to agree to what this person said. He could not be instantly controlled, he just flat out refused those sort of things, even if it got him nothing at all. He'd have to learn to deal with this in some possible way. Whatever way that was though, still had to be seen. Honestly he didn't know what to do about it. Or how to go with these sort of things either. It all just seems too strange for him to deal with. Meeting someone who apparently had the same name as him. True names were not just handed out in weird ways. So this was already quite shocking to him, and it in general made him feel really really weird. Like that shaky kind of weird. The one he wanted to make go away if that was even the slightest bit possible. Which so far it did not even seem to be. Go figure his luck was that horrible.
"N-no." He refused though it wasn't easy. His hands still went to his shirt, they wanted to keep the name hidden. But at the same time they couldn't. Faye was not able to deal with this. He would not want to be controlled, he'd find some way to escape from it. But for now he'd just keep on playing this little game. See how far it got him. And just who this doctor was. As he tugged his shirt off to reveal his true name he just looked away from the doctor. Why did he have to get paired with some creepy doctor? Fate was weird, and even more so in this case. He didn't have a clue what to make of this. It was already way too strange even for little him, he didn't know what to do or how to go about this stuff. It was not exactly something Faye believed he would be good at handling. More or less he was already completely confused, and stressed out at this point.
This was weird, and he wanted to jump up and flee. But no Faye stayed put for now at least.
Temporarily the doctor simply ignored the younger one’s distress, far too absorbed in feeding his own curiosity. It was so odd for him since he usually put others first- especially his patients, but he had waited far too long for this to let Faye delay it any further. He was surprised when the teen lifted the shirt off though, since he had merely told the other to tell him, but regardless he received the information he had been looking for. “Holy shit,” he practically breathed the curse after a couple seconds, clearly in disbelief. He reached out as if he was going to touch the marking as well, yet regained his senses last second and retreated a few steps until he flopped back into his chair.
“You can put your shirt back on… Honestly I thought you didn’t exist,” Henry admitted aloud, still sounding half out of it. “Mine appeared nineteen years ago and I’ve been looking for its match ever since. But I didn’t think it’d be a kid,” the doctor rubbed the back of his neck, tone so quiet now compared to how excited he had been just moments ago. He seemed to be lost in thought, not knowing what to do despite having dreamt of this moment many times before. Given, he never imagined it’d happen quite like this.
“Look, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to force you into anything like that… Well I guess I did, I just… As much as I’ve thought about this, I don’t know what to do,” Henry admitted sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck as he looked away, moving to stand up again after a moment. “I’d imagine you’re too young to drink, not to mention it’d be a horrible idea in your condition since you need to be hydrated- you should drink more of that water, by the way,” the doctor seemed to be significantly calmer now as he moved to the kitchen to get himself a beer before returning to his chair and taking a swig, feeling like he needed a bit of liquid courage at the moment.
