Hello, everyone! after dealing with real life and the other nonsense of living, panny and i have decided to bring back war of change. give a round of applause. we’ve worked through all of the information and hopefully improved coherency and cohesion; however, tell us if we missed something. eventually, we’ll announce an event to celebrate the re-opening, so look out for information on that. -RAIDNE, THE HEAD ADMIN
From the moonless night, screams of terror and fear resound, spreading across the world and infecting the masses; however, those sleepless nights occurred years ago. A new era began with the fires of war, and with no end in sight, the residents of Selene Isle trudge through life, basking in the momentary peace. Despite their prayers for continued monotony and peace, a storm brews, stirred to life by the continued presence of Rapture and Wraith. And as we set our sights on the seemingly peace laden isle, we must ask: how shall this tale end?
As the years passed, the number of true pairs increased; however, they continued to live in the shadows, catering to the whims of the mundane. Seven Moons kept watch over them all, instructing them and assisting them, but for many, the attitudes and ideals of the organization were smoldering, suffocating. With Seven Moons and the mundanes, they could not grasp the freedom, the power dangling before their eyes. In the beginning, rebellion was a dream, a fantasy, a figment—developed by the repressed and carried forward due to the nature of humanity. No one expected the call to sound, and no one expected the call to be answered. However, it happened.
the strays of this city is the only family she has They come and go like the wind; one moment, they will be there, and the next, either someone takes them home or they vanish completely. Misaki only wishes that it would be the former, as having a real roof over them is better than having a sky above them. To be honest however, she likes the sky only when it's raining. This is the moment where she can curl up and feel the droplets of rain falling down from the sky whilst her animal friends slept close to her.
The alleyway besides the Selene General Hospital is teeming with cats. They don't seem to dislike human companionship, as Misaki sees them all the time on the weekends. Thus, she took her chance and decided to go for it, sleeping near their little pack just so she can feel not as lonely on these slow days. Being wet by rain is inevitable, but it doesn't bother her, as it's just drizzling right now. Her small form found itself laying on some trash bags heaped up, and her cover only consists of a thrown away white sheet.
Nowadays, it's hard for her to be grossed out by the smell of trash, mainly because she's used to it and also because she literally smells like one as well. And if she falls asleep, then it would all be pushed aside. That, however, does not seem to be the case right now. Tossing and turning, the young lady could not find a comfortable position within her makeshift bed, her arm dangling out, and her ears twitching from the fervent raindrops upon them.
Though she's near a hospital, there's barely any human noises, and it's quite odd. Usually, she prefers some peace, but right now this uncommon silence is making her body go rigid until she finally relents and turns a side. Even the cats had paused in their actions, sitting or standing as stiff as statues while their noses survey the air.
Tilting her chin up, Misaki could make out a tail lightly tapping the ground. Flopping onto her stomach, her own tail raises upward and gently sways back and forth. "...The world is really motionless right now, isn't it?" She gently says, brown eyes watching the cat with affection lingering in them.
DIETRICH RUBBED HIS HEAD, AN EMBARRASSED smile spread across his face as he walked through the hospital’s hall. That morning had been fast-paced. The blonde first woke up late for a class, meaning he was in a hurry to at least catch the last twenty minutes of review. As he had run through the street he hadn’t noticed the cyclist that was coming perpendicular to him at full speed. The collision was rough, but luckily Dietrich’s body made for a good cushion for the cyclist after he flew off. And after many minutes of apologizing and making sure the other was alright, Dietrich waved goodbye and hobbled his way to the closest building to lean up against. His head pounded and his body ached, but it wasn’t until he started feeling light headed that he felt it might be good to drop by the hospital clinic for a check-over.
When he managed to maneuver his way to the busy building he had been sat down and giving a routine exam. Luckily there was no serious damage, only a minor concussion and a couple bad scraps. But nothing that would keep him incapacitated for longer than a day or so. After urging the nurses that he was fine to walk back home alone, Dietrich left the hospital, waving goodbye and apologizing one last time. Upon exiting the building, Dietrich flipped up his jacket’s hood, making his best attempt to shield himself from the rain that fell overhead.
The blonde had just started his journey home when he caught movement in the corner of his eye. In the back of the alley beside the hospital there was a strangely large rustle. Turning his head to get a better view his brown orbs catch sight of something his injured brain didn’t quite understand. Hidden among a large group of stray cats, was the small figure of a tiny girl. His eyes narrowed, and blinked a few times, his vision still blurry. He wasn’t sure if this was actually happening, or if his mind was just placing things where they don’t belong. After a couple minutes he shook his head, rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands, and looked once more.
Still there.
Dietrich watched the girl and her interactions with the cats. She seemed.. happy? No, not happy. Content? Maybe? The blonde wasn’t quite sure what word his mind was trying to pinpoint, but the abrupt sound of thunder brought him back to the moment, his head beginning to pound once more. Should he leave her there? It wasn’t really any of his business… but her disheveled appearance made the blonde feel.. sad? No, no, he felt despondent.
“Oi, what are you doing over there? You’re going to catch a cold,” he called, taking a few steps towards the girl. As he approached, the surrounding cats looked frightened and dashed from the area, leaving only the two in the alley. It seemed kind of ominous, the alley itself was a trashy place, and definitely not for young women to be crawling around in. It wasn’t safe and Dietrich wasn’t prepared to leave her there alone. He would at least get her under proper cover so she could stay out of the rain for the day.
Suddenly the cats left, as if scared. Searching for the thing that scared the felines away isn't hard, as Misaki could make out a pair of legs a few feet away from her, and right before that, a man's voice. She could distinctly hear her heatbeat pacing quicker as the opposite sex took his time to close some distance between her, yet the girl only looks at him, stunned. At first, Misaki's mind went blank with surprise, her eyes unblinking despite the wet strands of hair clinging to her face.
Then, she sits up in a flash, not caring that it made her stomach lurch a bit. With her sudden flurry of movements, some of the trash bags came undone from the pile, along with her own body. Thankfully, it isn't a hard tumble, and the girl did land on her side. Scrambling up, the young lady did not even care if her skirt is hiked slowly up, revealing her bruised knee. Her face is contorted in a fit of disgust and fear, marring the usual child like expression. Words fail to come out, except the occasional "keh" sound of her trying to speak.
Standing there, it's hard to process his words, but she did get a good glimpse of his appearance. Tall, blonde, older, and much more stronger than her -- all signs of a man who could take advantage of a girl like her. At least, there's the rain to make her calmer, or at least she's pretending it is. The incessant pitter patter felt like mere background noises to the drumming of her heart. Finally, Misaki's stance slackens a bit as she brings arms up, her hands balling into loose fits upon her chest.
As if her memory came back to her, the young lady could clearly recall the man's question through her mind. "I-I'm alright here." She murmurs, staring into the ground as hard as she can. She then leans against the wall, as her legs feels fatigued. "...Thank you for asking." These words took some courage to be spoken, though in her mind she is praising herself for not screaming it out.
