BASIC RULESACCORDANCE WITH PROBOARDS TERMS AND REGULATIONS
RATING. War of Change is rated PG-13 to stay in line with proboards rules. We do not want explicit sex scenes or bloody battle scenes. Romance may include everything from holding hands to kissing, but fade-to-black if you want to go further. Battle scenes should work in the same way if they approach an inappropriate level; a smack here and there does not require fading-to-black. Please keep this in mind while role-playing.
RESPECT. You are to respect everyone- the staff, the guests and yourself. We are not savages here, and we can be polite even if it kills us. So help us achieve a friendly and fun role-play community, here.
STAFF. The staff has the final word. We will work with everyone to fix problems that may crop up, and we will do our level best to be on top of things. Staff are to receive the respect they deserve. Staff positions may crop up as more people join and we will choose the new staff members based on either auditions and/or who we think deserve the position. The staff must have a separate account from their characters for admin work with their OOC (out of character) nickname.
PROFANITY. yes, you may cuss in threads, but don’t have the character cussing every other word. You may not cuss outside of IC (in character) threads/boards. We do not want that language in the chat box or in OOC boards. A slip up every now and then is fine, but don’t make it a habit.
GUEST-FRIENDLY. Some boards are guest-friendly as they are to assist guests. We have also set aside a section for advertising, and we will not allow advertising anywhere else. If someone advertises via pm, let the staff know, and we will handle it. We accept advertising from all sites, and we also accept affiliations. Please read the affiliation rules before applying.
ABSENCE NOTICE. We ask that you report when you’ll be away for more than a day or two. We do hold activity checks here every two to four months, and we do not want to delete someone’s account because they were on a family trip. Please do leave us a message when you expect to be gone for more than a day or two, and we will all try to work around that. We will also not touch any threads that your characters may be participating in. It is encouraged to warn the people role-playing with you about your leaving.ROLEPLAY RULESCREATING CHARACTERS AND IN-CHARACTER
ROLE-PLAY ETIQUETTE. Be a great and fun role-player- that means no spamming, god-modding, flaming, trolling, cybering and hacking. There shall be no mary-sues or gary-stus. We will not accept them, and they are no fun. We don’t want to be overrun with a certain type of character either as that isn't very fun for the members. We can use a few drama fanatics and a few bad boys... just not a ton of each.
WORD COUNT. We welcome all levels of role-players here, but you need to give the one you’re role-playing with something to work off of. We require at least a hundred words per post. We would like more, but this minimum would be the same as a good paragraph. Just make it fun for you and your partner.
GRAMMAR. We ask that you have good grammar and spelling in every post. We understand a few mistakes here and there, but please make posts legible. Raidne is not the best at this either, so she will not ask you to make everything perfect.
USER NAME. You may sign up with any user name, but we ask you to keep it from being something inappropriate- that means no weird symbols whatsoever. It is also helpful if you use your OOC nickname or character’s name, but that is not required. User names are to be changed to your character’s FIRST LAST name after being accepted.
ACCOUNT NUMBER. Here on War of Change we do have a character limit, but we will go through bans of certain characters should the need arise. We do expect there to be one character per account. There is no character limit; however, we require fifteen posts before all accounts before making another.
PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE. Please understand that we staff are human beings- like yourself. Please use notification threads to alert staff to check completed and waiting to be approved applications. Sometimes we overlook things, and it does happen, please kindly approach any on-line staff at the moment to assist you.
LIQUID TIME. The site is set in liquid time. This means that you can be in multiple threads at once. Some events may occur on top of each other, and the staff will give you an idea of the timeline between them. Raidne tries to keep a vague outline of all major events, so ask her if you want clarification.
IMAGES.We will not allow revealing images on the site, and this goes for both female and male face claims. Please check the face claim list before choosing a face claim, and face claims can only be from an anime/manga or video game. No advertising in your signature. Icons are set to be 150x150px, hover image in mini-profile is 200x400 px and signature image should not be more than 500px. The optimum height for it would be no more than 300px.
