Hello, everyone! after dealing with real life and the other nonsense of living, panny and i have decided to bring back war of change. give a round of applause. we’ve worked through all of the information and hopefully improved coherency and cohesion; however, tell us if we missed something. eventually, we’ll announce an event to celebrate the re-opening, so look out for information on that. -RAIDNE, THE HEAD ADMIN
From the moonless night, screams of terror and fear resound, spreading across the world and infecting the masses; however, those sleepless nights occurred years ago. A new era began with the fires of war, and with no end in sight, the residents of Selene Isle trudge through life, basking in the momentary peace. Despite their prayers for continued monotony and peace, a storm brews, stirred to life by the continued presence of Rapture and Wraith. And as we set our sights on the seemingly peace laden isle, we must ask: how shall this tale end?
As the years passed, the number of true pairs increased; however, they continued to live in the shadows, catering to the whims of the mundane. Seven Moons kept watch over them all, instructing them and assisting them, but for many, the attitudes and ideals of the organization were smoldering, suffocating. With Seven Moons and the mundanes, they could not grasp the freedom, the power dangling before their eyes. In the beginning, rebellion was a dream, a fantasy, a figment—developed by the repressed and carried forward due to the nature of humanity. No one expected the call to sound, and no one expected the call to be answered. However, it happened.
There had not been a single day where Ari hadn't contacted his friend. It was almost like a daily routine, a habit, something that took part of his life such as brushing your teeth, or eating something when you got hungry, or sleeping when you're tired even though the latter didn't quite apply to his case at all. Nevertheless, you'd figure out what it all meant from all of the extensive conversation logs and sleepless nights they had spent speaking to one another through their devices. Agreeing to meet up yet again, Ari waited impatiently for the arrival of his online partner as his thumbs twiddled together with his eyes glued on the fingers.
It was already a quarter past six and the teen's impatience was already kicking in. He wanted to see his friend, the one who gave him meaning, but enough about those mushy details for he was far too focused on the screen of his cellphone in hopes of obtaining a text message in response to the one he had previously set. Taking in a breath, his head pressed against the edge of the seat of which he was currently occupying before his eyes flickered over towards the door that was little ways from where he sat.
Tapping his finger against the opposite hand, he closed his eyelids for a moment trying to ease his nerves down. A couple of minutes wasn't going to kill him. And besides, it's not like Kohaku was the type of person who stood him up before anyway, so he shouldn't really be this worried in the first place. He had been there for Ari so the least he could do was be a good boy and wait for his arrival, right?
This wasn't the first time he had met up with the other but he hadn't been late before. Sometimes it was just hard getting out, after all.. it wasn't easy to explain where he was going. Or who he was going to see. Those that looked over him weren't really those that he trusted the best and he didn't want to be told that he couldn't come meet the other. The other was important to him, they were his reason for existence. Yes, he guessed that Lyria deserved better, but the world had destroyed what little hope kohaku had for people and others that he didn't know.
He had become a virus that couldn't be contained and only corrupted others in its paths. This however, made him worry, what if his virus started to affect the one person in the world that he wanted to keep safe? The thought picked at him and dug away at everything he really thought about. IT was for this reason that the small blackette had managed to get himself lost on his way to the cafe that he was to meet Arata at today. He had gotten by with staying out all day because Lyria was doing some work that she had to get done.
So that caused the young blackette to run at full force dodging people and angry glances. A few rude comments that he ignored and continued going until finally he stopped in front of the door. Breathing heavily and setting his hands on his knees for a moment to catch his breath at least partially before pushing the door open. His golden hues glanced around for only a moment before they found who he was looking for. Instantly a ease seemed to come over him and a smile to form. Haku loved that feeling, the feeling that he was safe no matter what the world had done, or what it had planned for him.
With the smile remaining on his face he moved quickly to the other and gave the other white-haired child a big hug. "ahhh!! arata! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to keep you waiting, it was an accident i promise!" he cooed quickly before slowly pulling away. With a huff he flopped into the chair near him. "Sorry again, so... what do you want to do today? I got home free till around seven.. so I don't mind at all." he said the smile on his face ever present as his legs swayed a bit under the seat with unbridled energy he only got when around the other.
A stifled sigh was cut short once a pair of arms were circling around his body and holding him close against someone's frame. Eyelids blinked a couple of times; paranoia kicking in until his piercing blue eyes fixed themselves on the person these arms that held him in place belonged to. That alone was enough to make his tension become only but a memory and the only thing that he ended up doing was smiling, pressing a hand to one of the arms, and returning the hug by settling his pale cheek against the tanned one in comparison. "I didn't.. wait too long." He uttered in a soft tone of voice, disregarding the fact that he had, indeed, waited for quite some time but he didn't have the heart to tell the other this.
Tilting his frame just a bit towards the direction he was now lacking support, he tried to regain his composure again and rested his back against the seat he was currently perched upon. Just then he noticed that the order he had placed for them was ready and was being called out. Lifting a finger, he'd wink "Hold that thought." And with that he excused himself from the table to retrieve the tray which contained a sandwich, two drinks, and two fries. Arata figured that considering he didn't eat that much he could split his meal with his counterpart while buying all of the other things separately. Arriving back at the table in mere moments, carefully situating the tray on the tabletop before seating himself back down again; he raised his sight over to his partner.
"This was one of the things I wanted to do today. Another thing is... " he cut himself off, snatching one of the fries, taking a bite out of it, then continued speaking with his half eaten fry pointing towards Haku. "Didja' hear 'bout the new team?" he inquired, chewing on the bit of food he had in his mouth, leaning forth against the edge of the table, swallowing before he returned to speaking with sheer excitement in every single word. "They say that they're the best players around. How much you want to bet they're half baked. We could kick their asses no sweat." Ari cockily yet proudly gloated with their status.
It was true that this boy had some kind of self righteous aura about him, but sometimes he thought that that was the best approach to a lot of things. Most of the players online were either newbies or the kind of guys who were all talk and no challenge. That was the reason he found himself attracted to Haku on a higher level than the majority of them and that was also the same reason why he became so attached to the other boy to the point that he would most likely get jealous if someone started talking to him about Haku. He was protective in the whole meaning of the word. Why wouldn't he be, anyway? If this person was the reason why he actually smiled a little more often than he used to and cared a little more than he did. "So what do you say? You in this with me?"
Arms wrapped around another smaller person as a form of apology. Haku could feel the other stiffen up for only a moment before realizing that it was him who had wrapped around the male. His voice however told the other male something different than what the white haired male was actually saying. He said that he hadn't been waiting to long, but Haku seemed to have a feeling that that wasn't the exact truth. Maybe it was a habit that the child couldn't escape from, being able to pick up on others a lot easier. The years of being exiled had given him time to work on a lot of things.
Haku was about to catch the other in the small white lie he had given before a single finger was put up to tell him that the other was leaving. Haku blinked but stayed seated where he had sat only a few moments previously. A tilt of the young child's head assured his confusion until he realized where the other was going. A small smile formed as the other brought back food and drinks he had obviously ordered before hand for the two of them. Haku grinned a bit at the other as he said that this was the first thing he wanted to do. Placing his elbow on the table Haku put his chin in the open palm of his hand. "well, it seems the first thing on the agenda has been accomplished."
A grin spread across his face as he watched the other snatch a fry and chew on it. Haku would eat in a moment, instead he found himself mesmerized by the other that sat across from him. At the mention of the new team whatever slight illusion the blackette was in was snapped out of. "I tell you, I've heard stories about them." he said with a half-frown. "I'm kinda getting tired of all the arrogance, though.. I haven't personally chatted with either of the team members. Though, I'm not surprised ... considering the rumors around virus are still out and about." he hummed a little finally taking a fry and playing with it between his fingers.
His brown hues glanced up again as the other suggested that they were probably all talk and no action. A soft hum came from the fighter as he finally took a bite from the fry he had been playing with. "Oh? Most likely, there are a lot of players like that. It's easy to tell if they make up an excuse for why they won't let you challenge them." he said. His thoughts were a bit distracted though, from the topic bring up of Virus. He had still been suffering from that despite Arata's new presence in his life. To be honest, he was still afraid that he would explode again this time taking someone precious with him.
His thoughts distracted him before he heard the other's voice once more bring him out of them. "Totally." he replied without a beat a smile forming. Haku would let these thoughts settle for now, it wasn't like he didn't have enough time on his own to worry over things. For now, he would be happy because someone he cared about dearly was with him.. and he wasn't going anywhere.
