Don't believe innocence unstained
even light can be hazardous for you
even light can be hazardous for you
"HEEE?!" She shrieked as her two hands slammed the table. Her eyes wide open when her adopted father, who was also her savior from her dark past, Munakata told her spontaneously about his current project deadline. He calmly sipped his coffee while his eyes continued to focus on the content of the newspapers. Hermes stammered. Her eyes lingered from left to right to left and then smacked her hands on the table once more.
"Are you kidding me?! Why- how- Stop reading the newspapers and do something!" She shouted and got off from her seat. Her feet stomped all the way through their house hall, heading for his work room. Her eyes wildly looked around, searching for an envelope that may seem rather unusually thick with content. She got down on all four and crawled around, looking through every corner and every pile of books and papers in the room for the envelope. She could hear the old man said something like, "don't waste your time searching for it" and "blame my editor for not reminding me". Hermes groaned so loud she sounded like an angry bull for a moment there.
"Don't put blame on others, old geezer! Sheesh! Have some sense of responsibilities, will ya!" She shouted her reply. Her eyes scrolled through one corner of the room and suddenly reversed back for something that matched what she was looking for. "Got it!" She snatched the envelope from the stack of books and quickly pushed herself away from the falling pile. Sound thuds and slams heard as different covers and weights of books hit to the floor. She smirked, someday she will get buried by all this for sure.
But not today! She hustled out for the door and ran off to meet the editor. Her eyes busy browsing through numbers and contacts she has in her phone, only to find one and only one name; Mr. Editor. She placed the mobile gadget close to her ear as she printed like she was being chased by a wild dog. She arrived, at last, and found a place to sit while waiting for the editor to arrive. One deep breathe in was all she needed to return herself back to normal, and she sat down with the envelope in her hand. Her eyes observed the morning scenery, enjoying the sight of kids playing and laughing in the park.
