OFFENSIVE SPELLS COLUMN kleur: dans van vlammen "stijgen, stijgen. flakkerende vlammen omlaag naar ons, en in een oogwenk, de duisternis verdwijnt. luisteren naar de stem van de vlammen." the innate beauty of fire can be misleading, and due to the mesmerizing quality of the flickering flames, an individual can lose sense of reason and their grip upon reality. for sveinn, the enchanting quality of the natural phenomenon morphed into a dance of shadows and lights. as the chanting commences, faint pinpricks of light appear in a circular pattern, ensnaring the opposing pair. the offensive spell inflicts damage based upon certain criteria, and due to the constant shift in color and intensity, the enemy lacks the knowledge necessary to unearth the secret behind the spell. upon the conclusion of the incantation, the pinpricks of light burst into appearance, morphing into a fiery phoenix and drenching the area in colored light. darkness cannot be allowed in the ring of fire, for the darkness disrupts the hope garnered by the flickering flame. at the basic level, the phoenix can obtain two different colors, which produce different sensations and degrees of damage. regardless of color and of effect, the spell ends with the creation of thick grey smog, and the smog produces a fleeting sensation of suffocation, disrupting the enemies concentration for a brief moment. in the basic level, sveinn can access red and orange colored spells. with the orange color, the flames inflict damage directly to the opponent’s nerves, creating the illusion of a burning sensation; however, as a psychological attack, the physical damage is minimal, usually caused by the enemy attempting to disrupt the continuous sensation of pain. it, however, will decrease the accuracy of ALL spells by FIVE. on the other hand, the red color produces grey flakes, which hover in the affected area. upon connecting with the flake, the contaminated surface will burst into flames, and it causes direct damage based upon the difference in accuracy—meaning it causes zero damage when set against a defense of higher accuracy and varies from severe to mild injuries based upon the overall difference. LEVEL: basic ACCURACY: 10% COOL DOWN: seven | DEFENSIVE SPELLS COLUMN kleur: verdediging tovenaar "beneden in de pits. beneden in de kelder. ze binden; u te beperken. er is geen uitweg." in the shadows, danger lurks, and it can approach from any direction. due to his paranoia, sveinn wanted to create an absolute defense, relying on his instincts to guide his pen and recognizing the necessity of protecting his loved ones. his primary defense is a deflection spell that utilizes hidden triggers and encasement. the light prevails over shadows, eliminating the darkness and stretching across the void to illuminate the path. for sveinn, the notion of good and evil translated into his refusal to allow opponents to injury his sacrifice. he will not allow harm to befall his companion… even if that translates into dragging out the confrontation. at the basic level, the spell creates TWO square shaped areas that emit faint light. these two boxes will whirl around sveinn and his sacrifice in a dizzying motion, and due to the application of the spell, the spell accuracy is divided by the amount of boxes created. when the opposing spell approaches, it springs the trap, causing a box of flames to appear around the attack and slowly consume the energy of the attack. with the release of one square, HALF of the accuracy from the consumed spell transfers to the remaining boxes of light. due to the fragility of the box, the incoming spell can break through the flames and attack his sacrifice; however, the accuracy will be DECREASED by the amount associated with the broken containment field. LEVEL: basic ACCURACY: 10% COOL DOWN: eight kleur: de paarse mantel "snel. snel. ruïne daalt op ons. dompel je onder in het leven." as a destructive force, fire cannot be controlled. the flames consume without mercy; the flames attack without reason. their tireless barrage ceases with the appearance of rain or with the end of their fuel supply. sveinn wanted to harness the rage situated within the fire. he desired to fan the flames and to watch it roar as its destruction resumed, and for combat purposes, he wanted to capture his desires and translate them into righteous furry. he accomplished his goal through the fruition of an unorthodox defensive spell. upon beginning the incantation, purple flames burst into existence, burning at his and his sacrifice’s feet. each word causes the fire to expand, crawling up their bodies and morphing into a second layer. to sveinn and his sacrifice, the flickering flames seem cold and elicit a faint tingling sensation upon exposed skin. by the end of the vocation, the colorful fire has surrounded them and transformed into an ill-fitting cloak. when an enemy spell approaches, the fire leaps off of them and latches onto the incoming spell. slowly, the fire consumes the spell and eradicates it. at the basic level, a purple ball of flames will hang—suspended in the air—for a brief moment, and with HALF of the consumed spell’s accuracy, it will unleash spikes of flames, which shoot off in random directions and inflict damage upon those caught in the blast radius. at the basic level, the defense cannot block water elemental spells, and when faced with a physical based spell, it merely consumes the spell, burning through the material used.
