Hello, everyone! after dealing with real life and the other nonsense of living, panny and i have decided to bring back war of change. give a round of applause. we’ve worked through all of the information and hopefully improved coherency and cohesion; however, tell us if we missed something. eventually, we’ll announce an event to celebrate the re-opening, so look out for information on that. -RAIDNE, THE HEAD ADMIN
From the moonless night, screams of terror and fear resound, spreading across the world and infecting the masses; however, those sleepless nights occurred years ago. A new era began with the fires of war, and with no end in sight, the residents of Selene Isle trudge through life, basking in the momentary peace. Despite their prayers for continued monotony and peace, a storm brews, stirred to life by the continued presence of Rapture and Wraith. And as we set our sights on the seemingly peace laden isle, we must ask: how shall this tale end?
As the years passed, the number of true pairs increased; however, they continued to live in the shadows, catering to the whims of the mundane. Seven Moons kept watch over them all, instructing them and assisting them, but for many, the attitudes and ideals of the organization were smoldering, suffocating. With Seven Moons and the mundanes, they could not grasp the freedom, the power dangling before their eyes. In the beginning, rebellion was a dream, a fantasy, a figment—developed by the repressed and carried forward due to the nature of humanity. No one expected the call to sound, and no one expected the call to be answered. However, it happened.

[attr="class","ho3"]nightshade was much louder at this time of night. saiph had been here all along, obviously, working the bar through the daylight hours; at no time of day could the place necessarily be called quiet, but watching the transformation over the course of their business hours, the difference in volume and energy couldn't be more obvious. he didn't dislike it—on the contrary, he lived on it—but at the moment, he couldn't say he wouldn't rather be asleep. there was plenty of excess on his plate now that his fighter was in the picture, and he hated to admit the way it was wearing him down. even this, now, was a product of his perceived obligation.
rika. rika, rika, rika. this would have been a much easier task had the girl been here during his shifts, but he figured it made sense for an eighteen year old girl to be otherwise occupied during the day. tonight, though, he figured she had to be around here somewhere; it seemed as though she always was, which made even more sense now that she owned the place.
he was glad for that, too. the fact that the top of their ladder was so easy to approach was a breath of fresh air. he never once had a doubt in his mind that she was as clever and ferocious as the rest of them, but in appearance alone, she was certainly the least intimidating. going to the top for the petty things he required was entirely unnecessary—he just had to ask a few quick permissions, was all—but he was happy to skip over the manager if he could. the woman scared him, honestly, and he put more trust into his fellow regalia by a mile, even if only for their shared affiliation. he might just be redirected to the redhead anyway, but it was worth a try.
saiph finally wandered from the stairs and into the fray. he knew that it wasn't worth it to call out; over the bass and through the disorienting neon lights, his voice would only travel far enough to annoy the people immediately on any side of him. for once he was glad to be as tall as he was, keeping his eyes peeled as he scanned the busy floor, hoping for that familiar face.

for the woman... the day life was the exact opposite of what really went on at night. She was normal during the day, a normal girl, normal school, a life that anyone would want to have. Yet.. beyond what people's eyes could see the girl was much more than what she could be seen as. Yet here she was entering her establishment, even with the fact that the girl was considered young in many of peoples eyes. They had no right to interfere as a lot of things on Selene Island was not associated with the real world.
The girl moved through the obvious crowd of nightshade as she took her normal spot at the bar. It was her normal night after all.. Belle was off tonight doing who knows what, and she was for now the overseer of her own establishment. Of course, wherever she was.. her scythe was not far behind. For now it was hidden in a room on the same level as the bar and not in her room above the establishment. The stairs barricaded off as normal, as customers tried to go up there more than often for her taste. She wasn't really in the mood for it tonight.
Taping the counter was all she needed to do before a drink was slid her direction and she chugged most of it in one swallow. There was only so much alcohol could erase though before she sensed the presence of another.. her green hues flicked to the side where she saw his form come down the stairs. Another groan came from the girl as she let out a sigh now. There was only so much she could take and he was not one of those things.
"Saiph..." she said flatly knowing he would find her in due time. Instead she stayed at her place at the bar and drank another swig of whatever the bartender had made her.
[attr="class","ho3"]he scoured the place for several minutes. the people that surrounded of him made up as interesting a crowd as ever, but unfortunately for those who recognized him, he hadn't come down to linger and chat. weaving through the openings, it wasn't long until he spotted the silhouette he had been looking for, but still longer than he would have liked.
of course, the girl was in the one place he would have hoped he wouldn't have to look. that being said, he should have expected it. it wasn't like he hadn't seen rika at the bar before, but he wouldn't ever get used to it. he didn't figure that glass in her hand contained anything non-alcoholic, either. he couldn't and wouldn't bring it up, regardless of how little he approved. he was still an older brother, though not hers, and the urge really was there to step in and talk her ear off about it, but it wasn't his place; he was no angel either, and she was still his superior.
deciding to hold his tongue, he squeezed past a few more bodies on the floor, finally breaking free of the crowd and gliding onto one of the open stools beside her. dropping an elbow onto the bar he propped up the side of his head in his hand and made himself known. "rikaaaaa, fancy seeing you here." the girl already seemed done with him, but when had he ever let that stop him? if anything, it promised him some entertainment.
no point in jumping right in. he surveyed his surroundings a bit. the bar at which they sat would have been his post a couple hours ago, though he didn't very well know the person who was working right now. he'd have loved to test the bartender, but he wasn't really looking to get his night started so much as get something to sip on for a conversation before he crawled back to bed. he waved them over and sent them off to make him a brandy alexander before focusing again on the girl beside him.
he drummed his fingers on the counter, same unconcerned grin on his face that he always wore. "how are you? how's your night? how's life?" there definitely was a part of him that enjoyed grinding on her nerves (playfully, of course), but another really was looking for the company. he was glad to be talking to someone who wasn't farah for once.
