Hello, everyone! after dealing with real life and the other nonsense of living, panny and i have decided to bring back war of change. give a round of applause. we’ve worked through all of the information and hopefully improved coherency and cohesion; however, tell us if we missed something. eventually, we’ll announce an event to celebrate the re-opening, so look out for information on that. -RAIDNE, THE HEAD ADMIN
From the moonless night, screams of terror and fear resound, spreading across the world and infecting the masses; however, those sleepless nights occurred years ago. A new era began with the fires of war, and with no end in sight, the residents of Selene Isle trudge through life, basking in the momentary peace. Despite their prayers for continued monotony and peace, a storm brews, stirred to life by the continued presence of Rapture and Wraith. And as we set our sights on the seemingly peace laden isle, we must ask: how shall this tale end?
As the years passed, the number of true pairs increased; however, they continued to live in the shadows, catering to the whims of the mundane. Seven Moons kept watch over them all, instructing them and assisting them, but for many, the attitudes and ideals of the organization were smoldering, suffocating. With Seven Moons and the mundanes, they could not grasp the freedom, the power dangling before their eyes. In the beginning, rebellion was a dream, a fantasy, a figment—developed by the repressed and carried forward due to the nature of humanity. No one expected the call to sound, and no one expected the call to be answered. However, it happened.
Belle was one part glad Rika had gotten their first, but also somewhat nervous. Like him, she knew one look at his phone would raise a few questions. Belle didn't want to get into any kind of fight with her, but she also didn't want her to find out who he was, and who she was to him. Then to have to explain why she was so against it. The idea that a Sacrifice would so easily be willing to give up their Fighter...
Angry wasn't a word that really encapsulated her guy feeling when she walked into that room to see the smaller boy. And he made no job of letting Rika know who he was here to see. No side story, no telling it was some stupid dare from his 'friends', not that he had any. She looked at him with a fire in her eyes that almost sought to destroy him where he sat. She was not overly keen on his existence.
Not matter how convincing his lie, just the sheer energy in the room made it very clear there was more to this. Rika wasn't stupid, that was very clear. But Belle was going to try and fool her anyway.
"I didn't realize breaking into an exclusive nightclub wasn't serious trouble." She sighed. "At least there's nothing on the camera I suppose." She didn't really know what to do. One part she was avoiding the inevitable. The other part trying to deal with him in a way that wouldn't come off as suspicious. Belle turned to Rika. "We need to invest in better bouncers. This is the second time in two months we've had someone cause trouble because they can't do their jobs right."
"I don't see why this needs to go beyond turning you loose, you don't have anything sensitive on you, that's for sure. Just a stupid kid doing stupid things where he ought not to. Do it again though and the consequences need not be so lenient."
It was obvious to the girl that this boy was hiding something, yet she wasn't quite sure what it was just yet. As she spoke she could easily smell the fear that suddenly wafted from him like a second skin. It actually caused a slight grin to form her features before she listened half-hearted to his excuse for him being here. Perhaps if she had been alone with him she could have really gotten him to tell her the truth. The situation in itself was enough to tell Rika this hadn't been a mistake.
At least that was until Belle walked into the room, the aura once again changed and Rika picked up on it instantly. In a quick movement, the girl swiped the phone that had been on the table and pocketed it before stepping aside to allow the woman to enter the room. She all but assumed there was something on the phone that would hold some interest to the woman that owned the establishment that they were now under. This was Rapture's domain and they had entered much more than a simple lion's den, this was much much worse.
"I see.. " she only mused slightly as she leaned against the wall, her scythe still behind her held by her gloved hand. Only once did Belle speak did Rika finally open her hues and glance at the other woman now, "I will look into it.. " was the only response she gave. It was obvious to her that the two were hiding something..perhaps it was because she liked Belle so much that she didn't just kill them both now and save the trouble for later when this got much more detailed.
Of course.. that wasn't in her plans tonight, she was on break and had come to drink. This kid she would have killed, but it seemed Belle was protecting him despite how much she tried to hide it. When they had both finished their own thoughts the girl suddenly stood up spinning her scythe absently behind her as she yelled the man's name who had left only a moment ago. He quickly entered again a bit shakily afraid of the young girl's wrath despite the awkwardness of the difference in age between the two.
"Please escort this young man off our property.. and his.. toy with him..." she said motioning to the camera. On the other hand she had no intention of giving back the phone that the young man had placed on the table. That was after all her bargaining chip with the conversation she was about to have. Her eyes glanced at Belle and it was obvious she was not pleased in the slightest from the look she gave the other. "Belle if you wouldn't mind staying for a moment... I'd be appreciative." she said.
With that she grabbed one of the chairs at the desk and spun it some so it was away from the desk and sat down still holding her scythe that she now set on her lap. Closing her eyes she sat her chin in the palm of her hand for a moment she was silent before suddenly her green hues opened. "Oh, one more thing.. you mention any of what happened down here to anyone boy..." she said glancing specifically in his eyes. "I will hunt you down and kill you myself." she said blankly with no emotion attached.
There was no doubt.. that it was a promise.

With the threat of death hanging over him Theo was cut loose and led wordlessly from the room -- no longer spitefully determined, he now just let the guard push him along. Maybe he could have pulled something off, ducked and ran, at least preserve the illusion of dignity by making it out of Nightshade his own way... but what would be the point? It was over and he hadn't even gotten to talk to her, not really... and now, with his phone in the scythe-girl's clutches, the truth coming out was just a matter of time. He'd overestimated himself and radically underestimated the other players at the table, so to speak. It was doubtful this really would have gone any other way.
A handful of minutes later and the troublemaker found himself tossed out back, landing roughly in the same alley that Nightshade kept their garbage dumpsters. A loud metallic 'clang' informed him that his camera awaited him in an open dumpster off to the left... from which a particularly pungent aroma wafted.
For what seemed an age Theo just sat there in the alleyway, thinking. He'd given up everything to come here, to meet her, to live out whatever significance that word emblazoned on his flesh by fate held. He could have been at his parents home, insignificant and disregarded but well fed, protected, with everything he needed...
... except relevance. Except purpose. All that and more the voice had promised awaited him here -- the same voice that now silently scorned him as weak, pathetic, unworthy to bear a demonic name. Theo wanted to reach inside his skull, pull it out, and stomp it into the pavement; life wasn't so generous.
"Get a move on, kid."
Apparently the guard dog was still watching. Eyes hollow aside from cold resentment, Theo picked himself up and fixed the man with his gaze. The guard seemed unimpressed.
'Glamorous'... just how 'glamorous' is this? That was the chief thought on his mind as the young man turned and very slowly headed out of the alleyway. He was a failure. Belle hadn't wanted to see him before and she sure as hell wouldn't want to now. And if he ever tangled with Rapture again he had the promise of a swift and not-likely-to-be-painless death to look forward to. Belle's own words came echoing back to him:
It suddenly seemed that Belle didn't have an awful lot to say. The usually sharp tongued serpent was rendered all but silent, simply letting the younger, yet more esteemed, woman do her job here. Even if it was just as harmful to Theo as it were to her. There were a number of things she could do in this situation, however none of them involved a simple outcome. Belle was not a person who resigned herself to much, let alone fate, but she also didn't want to find herself on the wrong side of Rika if it could be helped. After all, Rapture paid her, employed her, gave her a name people knew. There wouldn't be much to know should she cross the younger.
Nothing in her was content to watch what happened in the next few hours, or days. Belle didn't like it. Having a higher.
"If you need me to, of course." Of course not. What she'd like to do is drag the smaller boy out herself. At least she could give him the proper warnings to never do such a thing as this again. Whatever he had been thinking...She didn't know. Belle was only the Lioness of this den when Rapture let it be so. Now was not such a time. Belle felt herself flinch when Rika's threat to Theo came. She herself didn't really know what that implied at all. Only that some part of her was opposed to that threat quite greatly.
When Theo was gone the atmosphere was somewhat more relaxed, but Rika still had that damn phone. The older woman didn't like this situation. Not at all. "Did you want me to take that off of you until you want to look at it? Keep it in the safe?" She wanted to have some control over this situation, somehow she needed to try and avoid the worst outcome, but she didn't want the real lion here on her back. Though it likely wouldn't take her long to work something out. No one here was very stupid. "Sorry that had to happen tonight, Rika." Her voice came genuinely so. "It seems I'm letting myself slip."
She wanted this conversation to go elsewhere. But she didn't know how well that plan could work. The likely answer was not at all.
